On 11 July 2026, the Vietnam Cotton & Spinning Association (VCOSA) successfully held its 4th Term Congress (2026–2030) at Selegend Hotel, Thai Binh Province. The event was conducted in a hybrid format, bringing together members and stakeholders both in person and online.

The Congress welcomed representatives from government agencies, industry associations, international organizations, business partners, and VCOSA members. A total of 22 official members participated (14 in person and 8 online), together with 15 affiliate members (5 in person and 10 online), as well as 16 representatives from government authorities, industry associations, international organizations, and business partners.
The Congress was honored to receive congratulatory flower arrangements from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Representatives from both ministries attended online, including Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai, Senior Specialist of the Department of Non-Governmental Organizations under the Ministry of Home Affairs; Mr. Duong Xuan Dieu, representative of the Agency for Industry; and Ms. Hoang Hoai Hanh, representative of the Agency of Foreign Trade under the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The event also welcomed Mr. Truong Van Cam, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS), together with representatives from industry organizations and enterprises across the cotton, spinning, textile, and garment value chain.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Nguyen An Toan, Chairman of VCOSA, highlighted the Association’s key achievements during the third term and reaffirmed VCOSA’s commitment to strengthening its role as a bridge connecting businesses, government agencies, and international partners while promoting the sustainable development of Vietnam’s cotton and spinning industry.

During the Congress, delegates reviewed the Activity Report for the 2021–2025 Term and discussed the Development Orientation for the 2026–2030 Term, presented by Ms. Nguyen Thuy Vi, Deputy Secretary General of VCOSA. The report comprehensively reviewed the Association’s accomplishments, identified key challenges, and outlined strategic priorities for the next five years.
An interactive discussion session followed, where delegates shared practical experiences and contributed valuable recommendations to strengthen industry collaboration, enhance competitiveness, and help Vietnamese enterprises adapt to the evolving global cotton and textile market.

A highlight of the Congress was the keynote presentation by Mr. Vo Manh Hung, Country Representative of Cotton Council International (CCI), the Gold Sponsor of the Congress. His presentation provided valuable insights into global cotton market trends, supply-demand dynamics, and emerging opportunities for cooperation between Vietnamese enterprises and international partners.
In recognition of CCI’s long-standing support for the Association and Vietnam’s cotton and spinning industry, VCOSA presented a Commemorative Medal and a souvenir to Mr. Vo Manh Hung.

The Congress also reviewed and approved a number of key reports, including those of the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Supervisory Board, financial statements, amendments to the Association’s Charter, and the personnel proposal for the 2026–2030 term.
With a strong spirit of democracy, transparency, and consensus, delegates elected the Executive Committee and the Supervisory Board for the 2026–2030 term. Following the first meeting of the newly elected Executive Committee, the Congress announced the Standing Committee, the Chairman, Vice Chairmen, Secretary General, and the leadership of the Supervisory Board for the new term.

Speaking on behalf of the newly elected Executive Committee, Mr. Nguyen An Toan expressed his sincere appreciation for the trust placed in the new leadership and reaffirmed the Committee’s commitment to strengthening member services, expanding international cooperation, enhancing industry connectivity, and reinforcing VCOSA’s role as a trusted representative of Vietnam’s cotton and spinning sector.
The Congress also unanimously adopted the Resolution of the VCOSA 4th Term Congress (2026–2030), laying a solid foundation for the Association’s strategic initiatives over the next five years.

The successful conclusion of the VCOSA 4th Term Congress (2026–2030) marks an important milestone in the Association’s continued development. With a renewed leadership team and a clear strategic vision, VCOSA is well positioned to deepen cooperation among its members, strengthen international partnerships, and contribute to the sustainable growth and global competitiveness of Vietnam’s cotton and spinning industry.
