On October 19–20, 2026, the Vietnam Cotton & Spinning Association (VCOSA), in collaboration with the Brazilian Association of Cotton Producers (ABRAPA), the Brazilian Association of Cotton Exporters (ANEA), and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), successfully organized the Cotton Brazil Technical Workshop Vietnam 2026 in Hanoi. The programme connected Vietnam’s spinning industry with international experts from Brazil and India.
The workshop focused on sharing technical knowledge and practical experience to optimize the performance of Brazilian cotton in spinning operations. It also provided an opportunity for businesses to gain technical insights and discuss challenges directly related to their production activities.
The programme was delivered in a hybrid format, connecting participants in Vietnam with international experts joining online. Combining technical discussions with a mill visit, the workshop linked specialized knowledge with real-world spinning operations.

Technical Discussions on Using Brazilian Cotton in Spinning Operations
The programme featured the in-person participation of Mr. Fernando Rati, Head of Business & International Relations at ABRAPA, alongside representatives from Wazir Advisors. Through technical presentations and question-and-answer sessions, experts and participating businesses exchanged insights on technical factors associated with Brazilian cotton, operating conditions, and considerations affecting spinning performance.

The discussions provided a platform for technical teams from participating companies to share experience, raise production-related challenges, and explore approaches to optimizing operating processes. The combination of in-person engagement and online participation by international experts also broadened opportunities for technical exchange among stakeholders.

Technical Mill Visit to Huong Sen Comfor Yarn Spinning Company Limited
On October 20, participants visited Huong Sen Comfor Yarn Spinning Company Limited to learn about its production processes and engage in technical discussions in an actual manufacturing environment.

The visit covered key stages of the spinning process, including cotton bale storage, raw material preparation and cleaning, carding, and ring spinning. Participants also discussed the inspection of Brazilian cotton bales, raw material blending methods, production workflows, critical process parameters, and operating conditions.

In addition to observing the production facilities, participants engaged in on-site discussions about technical issues at different stages of the process and shared experience in addressing challenges arising during production.

The visit helped connect the workshop’s technical content with actual mill operations while creating opportunities for technical teams from spinning mills to learn from one another and exchange practical experience.
Strengthening Knowledge Exchange Across the Cotton-to-Yarn Value Chain
At the conclusion of the programme, participants received certificates of participation from ABRAPA and ANEA in recognition of their involvement in technical knowledge exchange on Brazilian cotton and spinning operations.
The workshop provided an opportunity for Vietnam’s spinning industry to strengthen connections with international organizations and experts, gain access to additional technical experience, and discuss production requirements directly with specialists. It also contributed to fostering cooperation among stakeholders across the cotton-to-yarn value chain, with the aim of improving operational efficiency and strengthening the industry’s competitiveness.
VCOSA extends its sincere appreciation to ABRAPA, ANEA, ApexBrasil, Wazir Advisors, Huong Sen Comfor Yarn Spinning Company Limited, and all participating businesses and experts for their collaboration and contributions to the success of the programme. VCOSA will continue working with domestic and international partners to facilitate industry connections, technical knowledge exchange, and international cooperation in support of the sustainable development of Vietnam’s cotton and spinning industry.
