On September 10, 2026, Ms. Hoai Thu Tran, Vice Secretary General of the Vietnam Cotton and Spinning Association (VCOSA), represented VCOSA at the Textile and Apparel SEA Vietnam Summit 2026 (TAVS 2026), held at Sheraton Hanoi West Hotel, Hanoi.
Held on September 10–11, TAVS 2026 brought together representatives from textile and apparel manufacturers, brands, suppliers, technology providers, and industry organizations to exchange views on the changing global trade environment and its implications for sourcing and supply chains in Southeast Asia.

As part of the Summit programme, Ms. Hoai Thu Tran delivered a presentation titled “Vietnam’s Textile Industry in a Changing ASEAN Landscape: Policy Priorities, Industry Readiness and the Road Ahead.”
The presentation provided an overview of Vietnam’s textile and apparel industry and its role within the broader ASEAN supply chain. It highlighted the scale and structure of the sector, its strong integration with international markets, and several key characteristics that shape Vietnam’s position in regional and global sourcing.
The presentation also addressed some of the key challenges facing the industry, including Vietnam’s high dependence on imported raw materials, evolving requirements in export markets, and the need to further strengthen linkages and capabilities across the textile and apparel value chain.
Against the backdrop of ongoing changes in global trade and sourcing patterns, the presentation further highlighted policy priorities and areas where industry readiness will be increasingly important for Vietnam’s textile and apparel sector.
Industry Exchange and Regional Connections
Beyond the formal programme, TAVS 2026 provided an opportunity for VCOSA to meet and exchange with representatives from companies and organizations across the textile and apparel value chain.
Discussions throughout the event touched on international trade developments, sourcing strategies, supply chain resilience, and the changing requirements faced by manufacturers and suppliers in the region.
