• RIL, công ty Ấn Độ chiếm ưu thế trong chuỗi cung ứng polyester, đã giảm giá axit terephthalic tinh khiết và MELT, đồng thời giữ nguyên giá monoethylene glycol. Động thái này, ảnh hưởng bởi biến động giá dầu thô và xu hướng giá của Trung Quốc, sẽ có hiệu lực bắt đầu từ thứ Bảy tới. RIL định giá PTA ở mức 81,60 Rs/kg, MEG ở mức 48,90 Rs/kg và MELT ở mức 86,80 Rs/kg.

• Giá sợi cotton ở Nam Ấn Độ tiếp tục giảm do thiếu hụt đơn đặt hàng từ ngành may mặc ảnh hưởng đến ngành dệt.

• Tại Gujarat, giá bông tiếp tục giảm do nhu cầu thấp từ các nhà máy kéo sợi.

• Chính phủ Ấn Độ đang đánh giá lại việc đưa các kiện bông vào lệnh kiểm soát chất lượng (QCO) do nông dân lo ngại về điều kiện thời tiết bất thường ảnh hưởng đến năng suất bông. QCO nghiêm cấm lưu trữ hoặc bán các sản phẩm không có Dấu Tiêu chuẩn, trừ khi được Cục Tiêu chuẩn Ấn Độ (BIS) cho phép.
• Trung Quốc đang có kế hoạch giải phóng bông từ kho dự trữ nhà nước để tăng nguồn cung, Bloomberg News đưa tin hôm thứ Ba trích dẫn các nguồn thạo tin về vấn đề này.

• Mặc dù có tranh cãi về bông Tân Cương và lệnh cấm sử dụng bông từ khu vực này, Trung Quốc vẫn tiếp tục là nhà cung cấp hàng may mặc hàng đầu cho Mỹ. Tuy nhiên, trong 4 tháng đầu năm 2023, nhập khẩu từ Trung Quốc đã giảm 17,9% về giá trị và 30,6% về lượng. Đáng chú ý, từ tháng 3 đến tháng 4 năm 2023, chỉ có dưới 10% lượng nhập khẩu hàng may mặc bông của Mỹ đến từ Trung Quốc, cho thấy ảnh hưởng lớn của Đạo luật ngăn chặn lao động cưỡng bức người Duy Ngô Nhĩ (UFLPA) đối với chiến lược tìm nguồn cung ứng của các công ty thời trang Mỹ.
• Việt Nam cũng chịu ảnh hưởng từ tình hình này do phụ thuộc vào bông Trung Quốc làm nguyên liệu thô, và do đó có thể mua bông bị cấm từ Tân Cương. Về giá trị, Việt Nam chiếm 17,3% kim ngạch nhập khẩu hàng may mặc của Mỹ trong 4 tháng đầu năm 2023, giảm so với mức 18,6% một năm trước.
• Ấn Độ, cùng với Bangladesh, Indonesia và Campuchia, đang được hưởng lợi từ việc các nhà nhập khẩu hàng may mặc của Mỹ quay lưng lại với Trung Quốc và tìm kiếm các nguồn cung ứng thay thế hiệu quả về mặt chi phí ở châu Á.

This move, influenced by crude oil price fluctuations and Chinese price trends, will be effective from the upcoming Saturday. RIL has set PTA at ₹81.60/kg, MEG at ₹48.90/kg, and MELT at ₹86.80/kg.
• South India’s cotton yarn prices continue to decline due to insufficient orders from the garment industry affecting the weaving sector.

• The Indian Government is reevaluating the inclusion of cotton bales in a quality control order (QCO) due to farmers’ concerns about abnormal weather conditions affecting cotton yields. The QCO prohibits storage or sale of products without a Standard Mark, unless authorised by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).
• China is planning to release cotton from state stockpiles to boost supplies, Bloomberg News reported on Tuesday citing people familiar with the matter.
• Despite the Xinjiang cotton controversy over the ban of cotton sourced from this region, China remains the largest supplier of clothing to the US. However, the top supplier saw a drop of 17.9 per cent in value and 30.6 per cent in volume in US imports for the first four months of 2023. For the first time in decades, less than 10 per cent of US cotton apparel imports came from China in March-April 2023, revealing a significant impact of the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) on US fashion companies’ China sourcing strategies.
• Vietnam has been affected in this scenario as it is perceived to be heavily reliant on Chinese cotton as its source for raw material and is therefore, exposed to the risk of buying banned cotton from the Xianjiang province. In value, Vietnam accounted for 17.3 per cent of US apparel imports in the first four months of 2023, down from 18.6 per cent a year ago.
• India, alongside Bangladesh, Indonesia and Cambodia are gaining from US apparel importers turning away from China and seeking cost-effective alternate supply sources from Asia.
