On the morning of July 18, 2024, at the Merperle Crystal Palace Hotel (Ho Chi Minh City), the Vietnam Cotton and Spinning Association – VCOSA’s Preliminary Meeting 2024 in 2024 was successfully held.

Attending the meeting, on the side of the guests of honor were:
• Mr. Dang Xuan Tam – Chief of Office, Trade Remedies Authority, Vietnam Ministry of Industry and Trade
• Ms. Do Thi Sa – Deputy Director, Information and Warning Center, Trade Remedies Authority, Ministry of Industry and Trade;
• Mr. Vo Manh Hung – Representative in Vietnam of the Cotton Council International (CCI)
On the side of the Vietnam Cotton and Spinning Association (VCOSA), there were:
• Mr. Nguyen An Toan – Chairman of VCOSA;
• Mr. Trinh Tan Hoang – Vice Chairman I (in charge of the South) of VCOSA;
• Mrs. Đo Pham Ngoc Tu – Permanent Vice Chairman cum Secretary General of VCOSA.
In addition, VCOSA warmly welcomed a large number of representatives of member associations and related enterprises from home and abroad to attend the meeting.
At the opening remarks of the meeting, Mr. Nguyen An Toan – Chairman of VCOSA expressed his delight that the meeting had attracted enthusiastic participation from members and non-member enterprises operating in the cotton-fiber-yarn industry. The VCOSA Chairman stated that according to VCOSA’s assessment, in 2024 the Vietnamese textile and apparel industry is facing many challenges in the context of increasingly fierce global competition. Therefore, the VCOSA’s Preliminary Meeting 2024 was an opportunity for the Association and enterprises to sit down, discuss and analyze, and seek solutions to help the yarn industry overcome difficulties, work together towards a stable and sustainable future development with specific and practical contents.

Within the meeting agenda, Ms. Duong Thuy Linh – VCOSA’s Vice Secretary General and Head of External Relations, on behalf of the Association, presented the “Report on the 6-month Review of VCOSA’s Activities in 2024” to summarize and share the successes and lessons learned through the activities, programs and events that VCOSA organized and co-organized from the beginning of the year.

In the panel discussion session moderated by the VCOSA Chairman, representatives of the enterprises participating in the Conference had a lively discussion on issues such as members’ experiences and successes in trade promotion, updates on raw material imports, traceability and supply chains, etc.

The Vietnam Cotton & Spinning Association (VCOSA) sincerely thanks all delegates, members and related enterprises who have taken the time to participate and provide valuable opinions at the VCOSA’s Preliminary Meeting 2024. The Association believes that the information shared and discussed at the meeting will be an important foundation for the Association to continue improving the plan and operational efficiency in the latter half of 2024. At the same time, the openness and cordiality among members, and between members and the Association demonstrated within the framework of the meeting is also an important driving force for VCOSA to develop further and fulfill its role as the legitimate representative body for the industry and its member enterprises.
