In 2024, the global political and economic climate remains turbulent, impacting cotton textile enterprises. The 2023/24 cotton supply and demand situation is becoming clearer, and changes are anticipated in the upcoming season. Under the new retail model, upstream and midstream industries face seasonality challenges. Enterprises must adapt by integrating internet and futures tools to find new order and pricing models. Furthermore, changes to cotton yarn futures rules require interpretation.

Addressing these and other industry hot topics, the 2024 China Cotton Textile Forum was successfully held on June 21, 2024 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. Hosted by Zhejiang Huarui Information Consulting Co., Ltd and sponsored by Xiamen ITG Group Co., Ltd and Pure-Fiber, the event gathered elites across sectors to promote industry collaboration and development.
On behalf of the Vietnam Cotton & Spinning Association (VCOSA), as part of the forum’s comprehensive program, Ms. Duong Thuy Linh – VCOSA Vice Secretary General and Head of External Relations delivered an in-depth presentation on the “Current status and future outlook of the Vietnamese cotton textile industry”. The content revolves around the current status of the textile and apparel industry in Vietnam, the operational status of textile and apparel enterprises, and trend forecasts, as well as the development plan of the Vietnamese government for the textile and apparel industry (until 2035).
