- Theo Bộ Nông nghiệp Hoa Kỳ (USDA), dự kiến tiêu thụ bông của Bangladesh sẽ tăng trong niên vụ 2023-2024 do sự phục hồi của các đơn đặt hàng từ các nhà bán lẻ và các thương hiệu quần áo quốc tế.
- Trong niên vụ 2023-2024, Chính phủ Ấn Độ đã tăng giá hỗ trợ tối thiểu (MSP) cho bông khoảng 9% so với cùng kỳ năm trước. Trong 8 tháng qua, giá bông đã giảm hơn 25%, gây ra tình trạng thiếu hụt nguồn cung bông trên thị trường. Dự kiến việc tăng MSP trong mùa tới sẽ ổn định giá và có thể dẫn đến tăng 5% diện tích trồng bông ở Ấn Độ. Các nhà chế biến bông hy vọng sẽ đáp ứng đủ nguyên liệu thô. Tuy nhiên, một số cảnh báo rằng việc tăng MSP mà không đi kèm với việc tăng năng suất bông có thể đe dọa khả năng cạnh tranh của Ấn Độ trên thị trường toàn cầu.

- Cotton consumption in Bangladesh will grow in the marketing year of 2023-24 on the back of a rebound in work orders from international clothing retailers and brands, according to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
- The Indian government has increased its minimum support price (MSP) for cotton by about 9% year-on-year for the 2023-24 marketing season. Cotton prices have already fallen over 25% in the last eight months, leading to a shortage of cotton in the market. The increase in MSP for the next season is expected to stabilise the prices and may lead to a 5% increase in cotton planting in India. Cotton processors are hopeful of getting enough raw material. However, some cautioned that a hike in MSP, without increasing cotton productivity, can endanger India’s competitiveness in the global markets.
- China’s yarn exports to India, which encompass all types of fibres, including cotton, have soared to double in the first quarter (Q1) of this year, reaching $349.329 million. The shipment to India amounted to 199.032 million kg, marking a significant increase compared to the same period in 2022.
