Spun yarn prices have heavily fallen in the last seven days in China, after fiber prices have sharply declined, especially on the polyester market. Poly-cotton prices have also dropped whereas the viscose market was less significantly affected.
Spun yarn prices have significantly fallen in the last seven days in China with 100% PSF yarns more heavily declining than other categories.
Polyester staple fiber prices have plunged by 510 yuan per metric ton or 6.4% in the last seven days while spun polyester prices have dropped 350 yuan or 2.7% if considering China’s yarn index.
In Qianqing (Zhejiang), 100% polyester prices have declined 150 to 350 yuan depending on counts (-1% to -2.8%).
Polyester-cotton prices have also sharply fallen after cotton prices have dropped further in the last seven days.
In Qianqing, the poly-cotton prices have lost 200 yuan for carded categories with higher combed counts even plunging by 500 to 750 yuan (-2.4% to -2.9%).
Cotton yarn futures have continued losing gorund, with a fall of 1.9% in the last seven years and a decline of 10.6% in four weeks for the nearby contract.
