Vietnam & ASEAN Textile Summit 2025

June 26–27, 2025 | Ho Chi Minh City

The Vietnam & ASEAN Textile Summit 2025, co-hosted by the Vietnam Cotton and Spinning Association (VCOSA) and international partner ECV, successfully took place in Ho Chi Minh City on June 26–27, 2025. The summit welcomed over 200 delegates from ASEAN countries, the Asia–Pacific region, Europe, and North America.

With the theme “Building a Safe, Agile, and Sustainable Textile Supply Chain”, this year’s event served as a strategic platform to foster policy dialogue, share best practices, and strengthen cross-border supply chain connectivity amidst global shifts in geopolitics, technology, and green trade requirements.

As the official co-organizer, VCOSA played a central role in engaging government authorities, industry associations, local enterprises, and international experts to participate in key discussions and experience exchange. Representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, leading universities, Vietnamese businesses, and global organizations jointly analyzed emerging global trends and proposed practical solutions for the ASEAN textile and garment sector.


Day 1 | From Policy Landscape to Market Dynamics

The summit opened on the morning of June 26 with a keynote by Ms. Nguyen Thuy Vi, Vice Secretary General of VCOSA, who delivered a comprehensive overview of Vietnam’s textile and apparel sector amid global supply chain realignment.

Following this, Mr. Tran Ngoc Binh – Head of Import‑Export Management Division in Ho Chi Minh City, Agency of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, offered insights into trade policy frameworks, opportunities from free trade agreements, and technical barriers affecting Vietnam’s textile exports.

From the international perspective, Ms. Julia Hughes, President of the United States Fashion Industry Association (USFIA), provided a strategic outlook on U.S. trade policy, geopolitical risks, and evolving sustainability expectations within ASEAN supply chains.

In the afternoon sessions, Mr. Javier Del Pozo and Mr. Pratik Goyal, Partners at McKinsey & Company, presented cutting-edge strategies for digitalization and AI integration across garment manufacturing and logistics.

Representing Vietnam’s academic and technical leadership, Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Mai Huong, Head of Brand Management, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, shared practical solutions for intelligent manufacturing and digital supply chain transformation.

Day 1 concluded with a lively panel discussion featuring leaders from Landmark Group, DAKOTA Group, Decathlon Vietnam, and CNV International, who debated regional cooperation, resilient value chains, and decarbonization in apparel supply systems.


Day 2 | Accelerating Green Transition and Circular Fashion

The second day opened with a strategic policy session by Mr. Hoang Van Tam, Head of General Affairs and International Cooperation Division, Department of Innovation, Green Transition and Industrial Promotion – Ministry of Industry and Trade, outlining Vietnam’s roadmap for a greener textile economy and national commitments under the COP26 framework.

This was followed by presentations from Mr. Anil Konidena (Landmark Group) and Mr. Herman Leung (DAKOTA Group) on vertical integration and circular supply models for improved sustainability and supply chain resilience.

Afternoon sessions highlighted technology and design innovation:

  • Ms. Hailey Tan, APAC Director at Browzwear, introduced 3D design technologies that reduce sample usage and streamline production.
  • Mr. Aravind Nambiar, Digital Director at Weave Services, analyzed digital transformation trends across global sourcing networks.

In the final sessions, Mr. Shahriare Mahmood, Chief Sustainability Officer at SPINNOVA, presented on wood-based fiber technology and sustainable material commercialization. 

The summit concluded with a forward-looking session by SYRE on textile-to-textile recycling and the transition toward a truly circular fashion economy.


The summit drew strong participation from businesses, associations, and partners across Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, China, Japan, South Korea, France, and the United States, along with global sustainability and innovation stakeholders.

Vietnam & ASEAN Textile Summit 2025 successfully served not only as a knowledge-sharing platform but also as a dynamic connector between policy, technology, and enterprise.
VCOSA reaffirmed its commitment to fostering collaboration and driving transformative initiatives that position the ASEAN textile sector as a leading force in responsible manufacturing, environmental stewardship, and long-term competitiveness.
