VCOSA Introduction
The Vietnam Cotton and Spinning Association (VCOSA) is a non-governmental organization, established and operating under Decision No. 1225/QD-BNV dated October 27, 2010 of the Ministry of Home Affairs on the basis of merging the Vietnam Cotton Association and Vietnam Spinning Association.
VCOSA is the legal representative for the voice of the industry and member enterprises. VCOSA’s mission is to promote the development of the spinning industry, contributing to the overall development of the Textile and Garment industry in Vietnam. VCOSA’s mission is to support information and specialized knowledge to member enterprises; represent the rights and obligations of members; trade connections and advise the government on policies to promote the development of businesses in particular and the industry in general.
VCOSA currently has 60 members, encompassing core members from spinning mills and other related industries.
In order to contribute to promote the stable and sustainable development of Vietnam’s textile and garment industry, VCOSA will soon participate in the national fabric production program under Decision No. 68/QD-TTg dated January 18, 2017 of the Prime Minister:
(i) Linking with industrial zones specializing in textile dyeing all over the country;
(ii) Strengthen advertising, dissemination and propaganda of undertakings and policies to attract investment in fabric production;
(iii) Encourage members who are spinning enterprises to participate in fabric production;
(iv) Calling for foreign investment in fabric production in Vietnam; and
(v) Increase the admission of members who are fabric manufacturers in Vietnam.
